Special  Interactive  Programme  held  on  the  7th November 2012  at Laittyra

The office  of  the Sub-Divisional Public Relations Officer, Sohra has  organized  a  one day  Special  Inter  Active  Programme  on  the  theme “ Water  & Its  Preservation” on  Wednesday  last   at  Laittyra  Community  Hall, Laittyra, Sohbar  Ilaka  wherein Shri.K.S .Lyngskor , Sirdar  Sohbar  was  the  Chief  Guest. The  Special  Inter  active  programme  is  an  innovative  grassroot  awareness  campaign  involving  direct  interaction  between community  and  officials  of  various  department.


Speaking  on  the  occasion, Mr.Lyngskor  highly  lauded  the staff  of  the  department  for  organising  such  a  programme  which  would  benefit  the community  at  large. He  said  that  the  theme  is  as  important  as  such  as  it  dealt  with “ Water”, one of  the  basic  necessity of  life. He  said  that “ Water “, without  which, man  and  other  living  things  cannot  survive  should  be  preserve  and  conserve. He  therefore  stressed  upon  the  need  of  preservation  of  the  envi -ronment. He  called  upon  people to work  together with the  government in  the  preservation  of  trees  and  catchment  areas  in  and  around  Cherrapunjee. He  therefore expressed  his  anxiety for  organizing  such  a  programme  in  future. He  therefore  wished  the  programme  a  success.


Shri.K.Nongbsaw, S.D.O(P.H.E), Shella, Shri.H.S.Kharpran, Project  Manager, Cherrapunjee  Ecological  Project, Dr.J.Buam, S.D .M & H.O , Sohra  C.H.C, Shri. R.Langstieh, Gramsevak, Shri  L.Wan-niang , Range  Officer, Soil & Water  Conservation  and  Shri.V.Nianglang, Sub-Divisional  School  Edu-cation  Officer  Sohra  highlighted  upon  various  schemes  of  their  departments.

 

Earlier Shri.M.Shullai, Rangbah  Shnong, Laittyra  village  delivered  the  welcome  address  while  Smt. S.K.Phanbuh, Sub-Divisional Public Relations Officer, Sohra  who  chaired  the  function  offered  the  vote  of  thanks.
