The College was running smoothly within a year that the Staffs (teaching and non teaching staffs worked together for the welfare and development of the college.

Proposal to the Government:

Regarding with the proposal to the Government for obsorbing the Staffs of Sohra Govt.College: One Library Assistant did not obsorbed till date. She was joined in the college since 1986 and one Lecturer in Khasi who was joined in the college in the month of September, 2008 did not obsorb till date. I have written to the Director of Higher and Technical Education, Shillong on 19.3. 2013 to remind this for taking up this matter immediately.

Selection test 2012:

The Selection test 2013 was held in the month of October, 2013. All students were allowed to appear the Final Examination programme to be held in the month of February, 2013. All those who are absent and those who are sufferings are considered them to to attend retest to be held on 29th, November, 2013. All works were prepared by the Evaluation Committee of the College.

Celebration of the College Week:

the College Week Committee Members arranged the College Week programme with the Students Union held with effect from 4thto 12th, November, 2013. The programme was completed successfully. The students took part in different items. The expenditures was spent an amount of Rs. 1, 23,543/- only (was spent from the College fund).

The Old building is not a plan building. It may not last long. Further, the constructions of the rooms are very small. It is very difficult to accommodate the students the BA-I year students, the Class- XI students and especially in the Final Examination programme of both MBOSE and NEHU for it is the Centre of Examination of Both MBOSE and NEHU. We have to conduct the above Examination programme every year.

The important construction to be done immediately is:

(i) the Examination Hall that we can accommodate for 75/100 remaining seats in the forth coming Examination 2014.

(ii)- Honours Classes for all the Departments.

Slip of the wall behind the Basketball Court of the College Campus

On 8th, May, 2013 at night one part of the wall was destroyed by heavy rains. I have submitted the plan estimate an amount of Rs. 2, 56,100/- to the Director of Higher and Technical Education, Meghalaya Shillong for approval. The DHTE has already sent to PWD (building) Shillong for this proposal.

Opening of English Honours Course in the year 2014

Because of the demand of many students to open the English Honours in the College, I have submitted the application of affiliation for opening the English Honours and Rs. 9000/- was paid for affiliation fees. I hope that the NEHU will grant this that in the year 2014 the English Honours will open to those students who are eligible to choose this important subjects.
