With an eye to sensitise the local populace, Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation Campaign 2017 was formally launched where stickers were pasted on to lpg gas cylinders in and around Sohra town by the Office of The Sub-Divisonal Officer (C), Sohra, under the guidance of Mr.G.Warjri, MCS, EAC, Sohra.
National Voters Day 2016 observed on 25.1.2016
Together with the rest of the country, the National Voters’s Day was observed today the 25th Jan 2016 by the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (E ), Sohra Civil Sub-Division at Sohra Stadium , Saitsohpen, Sohra in a befitting manner. His Excellency Dr.Celestine Lyngdoh, MLA, 11-Umsning (ST) Assembly Constituentcy and Parliamentary Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya salute of the marching contingents on the occasion of the 67th Anniversary of the Indian Republic Celebration which was held on the 26th Jan 2016 at Sohra stadium, Saitsohpen, Sohra.
World Environment Day celebrated, Sohra, 5th June 2016
World Environment Day is the globally celebrated day on the 5th June of every year for positive environmental action. Mr.Nipon Hajong, MCS, Sub-Divisional Officer, in a small function held in Sohra highlighted not only on the importance and need to care for the Earth, but also reminded one and all of their individual power to become agents of change. Along with various Sub-Divisional heads, a tree plantation drive was carried out to commemorate the event.

World Disability Day Celebrated in Sohra
To promote a spirit of bonhomie and extend support to the differently-abled citizens stationed in Sohra Civil Sub-Division and as part of Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), the Office of The Sub-Divisional Officer (EL), Sohra celebrated World Disability Day comemorated on 3rd Dec. 2016. People With Disability were felicitated with EPICs and citation on that day.
