National Voters’ Day Observed at Sohra Jan 25 ^th ,2013

Together  with  the  rest  of  the  country,the  National  Voters’s  Day  which  was  organized  by  the  office  of  the Sub-Divisional Officer (El), Sohra  Civil  Sub-Division  was  also  observed  today  at Sohra  Stadium , Saitsohpen, Sohra  in  a  pomp  and  splendid  manner .

In  his  introductory  speech, Shri.C.V.Diengdoh, IAS, SDO  Civil  and ERO, Sohra  underlined  the  importance  of  voting  fearlessly  without  consideration  of  caste,creed,religion etc  and  the  value  of  a  single  vote. He  therefore  urged  upon  people  to  exercise  their  franchise  with  sincerity  and  integrity. He  ended  his  speech  by  reading  the  voter’s  pledge .He  also  handed  over  the  cash prize  to  Sur Nylla  

The  other  highlight  of  the  day  were  songs  presented  by  students  of  Sohra  Academy  and  Sur Nylla  cultural  group.
As  part  of  the  observance  of  this  day , the  Emperical  Tribe  enthralled the  crowd  with  their  music.
